Transport chains, sometimes referred to as tie down chains or binder chains are made from high strength steel and come in a wide range of rating grades including Grade 43, Grade 70, Grade 80, Grade 100, and Grade 120. Our transport chain assemblies are available in a wide variety of premade lengths, sizes, and grades. All transport chains we offer come with preinstalled grab hooks on each end. Grade 80, 100, and 120 chain assemblies are tagged and rated accordingly.

Grade 43 Chain (sometimes called farm chain) is the lowest grade of chain that is approved for transportation tie down applications. Grade 43 chain is becoming harder to find and has been primarily replaced by the higher rated Grade 70 type transport chain. Grade 43 chain is NOT designed or approved for overhead lifting applications.

Grade 70 Chain is the most popular tie down binder chain in use today. We offer a full range of sizes and lengths of grade 70 chain assemblies. In addition to our grade 70 chain assemblies, we offer grade 70 chain in bulk barrels as well as a full range of grade 70 fittings and accessories. Grade 70 chain is NOT designed or approved for overhead lifting applications.

Grade 80, 100, and 120 type alloy chain is higher rated than types 43 & 70 and is designed for both use as tie down chain and is also approved for overhead lifting. Due to their higher ratings, transport chains in grades 80, 100, and 120 can allow the user to select a smaller chain size to make handling much easier. Please note: Grade 80 chains with “transport type” clevis grab hooks are NOT approved for overhead lifting applications and may only be used for tie down applications.

All chain products we sell are manufactured in accordance to NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers) specifications. In addition to tie down chain assemblies, we also offer bulk transport chain by the foot as well as chain binders, transport chain hooks & fittings, and more. We can also make custom chain assemblies per your specs upon request.

When selecting transport chain, it is important to pay close attention to WLL (Working Load Limits) and ratings of each product selected. All tie down chains, binders, and fittings must be used in accordance to D.O.T. requirements and safety procedures.
